Zooman is a teenage Philidelphia Black youth who senselessly terrorises Blacks and Whites alike

When he kills a 12-year old black girl in a street full of people, the witnesses are too frightened to identify him and the girl's father accuses the community of cowardice

They, in turn, accuse Zooman of giving the Black community a bad name and threaten him with violence of their own

An eventual showdown points to the futility of escalating violence
