Synopsis

The Monster of Eden City

$7.99

David Muschell

Published by Brooklyn Publishing

1 Male 1 Female

Rebecca is having difficulty with the play she is rehearsing. When her leading man overdoes a moment of closeness, she explodes, causing her director some real concern.

After all, they're only three days away from opening night. Rebecca finally reveals what is causing her edginess: she's pregnant, and the man she thought she was going to marry has abandoned her.

She doesn't know what to do, and the director worries that this will be the end of the play.

But the show must go on.

As the rehearsal progresses, we meet a comical pair who play the "monster," a farmer who takes his bit part very seriously, and a light person who likes to eavesdrop.

Comedy mixed with serious themes, this play within a play will have audiences laughing one minute and perhaps shedding a tear the next.
