Synopsis

Not Such Stuff

Chris Wind

Published by Cyberpress

0 Male 8 Female

(Feminist) Soliloquies 'written' by Shakespeare's women, protesting the role given to them, interwoven so the lines of one woman echo or comment on the lines of another. Includes Lady MacBeth, Juliet, Kate, Portia, Regan, Ophelia, Marina, Miranda, Isabella (optional), and Desdemona (optional). Staging and set is open.

Another version, titled “As I the Shards Examine”, without the interweaving, places the play in a women's public restroom, includes Desdemona and Isabella, and adds an attendant, paramedics, and a police officer.
