Young wife and mother, Caroline Chisholm, tries to save hundreds of female immigrants from the streets and untrustworthy men in Sydney in 1841

She pleads for help from community, clergy and government

Caroline’s “mission” keeps her from going with her husband Archibald to India

She tells the Governor: ‘It’s the responsibility of the Government’ to provide shelter

Caroline is near despair, but her faith gives her strength to continue

She sets up a shelter; then transports immigrants to country jobs

Caroline wants to join Archibald but stays to fight for justice for immigrants
