Michael Weller

Published by Samuel French Inc

3 Female

This is the rootless generation of sixties' youth pinpointed. Five male college seniors and their three student cohabitants have no purpose in their lives and no reverence for anything - even love for one another is ephemeral

In the course of the action they go on marches and taunt the 'pigs'. One boy feels genuine emotion at his mother's death, one romance dies and another is aborted

But it is the squares from outside whom the students put on who bring forth the humour, as they mock two cops, a landlord and best of all an encyclopedia salesman

"A phenomenal, virtuoso display of wit and verbal imagination" - New York Times Now There's Just the Three of Us ~ Michael Weller, M4,F1 Perry and Frank are roommates. Perry greatly envies Frank's expertise with the ladies, which Frank often tells him about in great detail

Enter Deke who neither Perry or Frank know, but convinces each that he is a good friend of the other and proceeds to move in. Deke is a real ladies' man. He brings his girlfriend too and moves into the bedroom, displacing Frank

When a mysterious man from an 'agency' comes looking for Deke, he splits, leaving his girlfriend with Frank and Perry. She announces that she is going to devote herself to sex and they get very excited when they realise that it's now just the three of them!

An excellent choice for colleges
