A row takes place as the main actors, husband and wife, Jimmy and Angela, await Stephen, the director

Jimmy, an amateur boxer, instead of a soft slap, slams Angela and knocks her to the ground during rehearsals

When Stephen comes to her assistance, we discover that there is a love affair in progress that Jimmy is unaware of

Jimmy is dismissed by Stephen and we see more into the affair

But Jimmy has left in a huff and it's only when Rose, their daughter, arrives in a panic to tell her Jimmy has been rushed to hospital having had an accident that we see where Angela's true loyalty lies
