This 90-minute script includes young people's excitements and frustrations in trying to express themselves, both the bitter and the farcical side of human relationships

Along with the difficulty in communicating with parents and the terror when this problem grows into child abuse, the tension of growing up in a war threatened world, and, finally, the rich warmth when there is human caring and sharing

These stories and poems were carefully selected from recent entries in the Southwest High School Creative Writing Awards, an annual program which goes into 500 high schools in seven states and is conducted by Tom Erhard, editor of this script and professor of theatre arts at New Mexico State University

Professor Erhard is the author of many plays for young people, some of which are in this catalog

He has arranged, edited and dramatized these stories and poems to create intense theatre which builds to a powerful climax and then a warm, upbeat finale
