Elvis & Ali: The Summit

In the mid 1970’s, a frustrated Elvis Presley called Muhammad Ali for advice. Ali invited Elvis to his rural Pennsylvania training camp where they discussed life, race, family, politics, war, religion, women and the prison of fame

We see the two men shed from their clichés—intelligent beyond their education, insightful, and, most of all, feeling, as they explore what they have done to the world and what it has done to them

Ali offers a metaphorical challenge to the King of Rock ‘N Roll to go back to his roots by singing at a country dive bar, and the show climaxes with a rousing impromptu concert that is as freeing as it energetic

“Elvis & Ali: The Summit” is a story of what was and what could’ve been. It is a lesson in imprisonment and slavery, sometimes in the traditional sense and sometimes in a more subtle sense. It is part lesson in culture and race, and part lesson in the Blues and Gospel
