"Expatriate writer Robert Lord, domiciled in New York, has a fine homecoming (to New Zealand) with his black comic farce.... COUNTRY COPS is set in a police station in small-town New Zealand. Jasper Sharp is sent from the city to solve a murder which the two local constables Bert and Trev have pigeon-holed because of more pressing matters.
