When Cinderella's left alone to do the work, Ashes helps her as easily as he'd catch a mouse
When the others go to the ball, he stays with Cinderella. He gives up his pumpkin for her coach and his nice fat mice to make the horses (though he hopes he'll be there when they turn into mice again!)
