The thematic premise of this play is reflected in its title Brothers of Blood, and Sons of Betrayal - the idea that "abandoned sons' become "sons of betrayal"

In absence of their father's guidance, two sons become attracted to organized crime figures, particularly their Grandpa Clarence

Through his visits with his grandsons, he perverts their perception of their father

Through the urging of Clarence and Buster, the two brothers feelings of rejection and their need to belong, culminates in their joining the Mafia

Now they have a family they can relate to

And now they are accepted and needed
