Synopsis

A Minute of Silence

Harris Freedman

Published by Cyberpress

4 Male 4 Female

Barry, a University Graduate, has chosen to spend his life in the circus making and repairing the performers' shoes

Barry's parents employ psychologist Dora to "rescue" him, but they don't tell her that he is deaf

Dora struggles to come to terms with her own problems whilst under the illusion that it is Barry who needs help

Their love story unfolds through dialogue, zany physical theatre and sign language

Told by an ensemble of eight actors who act out the story, have fun, and mock the seriousness of the scenes

A Minute of Silence offers the audience a rare glimpse of the hearing world from the deaf point of view
