LABELS
Full length play (surrealist tragi comedy, partly inspired by the death of Elvis) A crisis for a middleaged doctor, accused of overprescribing. When Mrs. Dunphy discovers her son Gerard is missing she consults Dr. Porter at the Wellenough Clinic. However he is busy rehearsing his black and white minstrel numbers with Dr. Trayne. When the medical board investigates the clinic some shocking news is revealed.  4 F - 4 M

DUSTY BLUEBELLS
Full length play uses women’s prison as microcosm (+ mime/music)  Prisoners perform The Mikado as foreign investors threaten action. The dusty bluebells of Lush Island are endangered by the proposed chemical factory of Herman Spiegelmeier. But the women prisoners have a surprise up their sleeves. 8 F- 3 M

  OMLETTES
  One act black comedy, set in a restaurant. A sardonic commentary on the illusion of choice. A strange trio of waiters serve omlettes with a difference to a married couple, a young pair on their first date and a tramp. But what happens when the young people cannot pay? 3 Waiters (M or F) + 2F +3M

LEMON SOUFFLE
One act dreamlike play, set in an old abbey where an engagement party causes friction as family secrets are revealed. 3F,4M

SHYLLAG

THE RING OF MONT de BALISON  
One act play, tracing the fate of lovers through the ages, (from 1208 -1988) who wear a ring found near Mont de Balison (Norman garrison in Ranelagh) Suitable for all ages and casts. Myriads (+ mime/dance/music)

CAROLAN’S CAP
One Act Theatrical/Musical Interlude, celebrating Turlough O’Carolan (1670-1738) the great Irish Harper Composer. CAROLAN, dressed as in life, entertains with wit, laughter and delicious conviviality, through all of which flows the genius of his MUSIC, making a seamless tapestry of dramatic colour.  1M + Musicians

BOHEMIANS
One Act Theatrical/Musical Interlude, celebrating William W. WALLACE (1812-1865) and Michael W. BALFE (1808 -1870) Both Composers are conjured up by ZIGEUNERIN, a hopeful soprano who wants to commission an opera. Highly comic & colourful joust. 2M 1F + Pianist

NOCTURNE
One Act Theatrical/Musical Interlude, celebrating John Field (1782- 1837) creator of the Nocturne. The Composer’s father, Robert Field, chances upon Ehkaterina Karaminskova, a capricous beauty, who is writing an account of her life with John Field. Dreamy and enigmatic. 1M 1F + Pianist

Miriam Gallagher, author and playwright studied drama in London (LAMDA) and later at Focus, Dublin’s Sanislavski theatre. Her work has been staged and screened in Ireland, UK, Europe, USA & Canada and translated into Irish, Dutch, Russian and Finnish. She has received theatre & filmscript awards, worked in professional, community and prison theatre and also performed and directed for stage & screen. Her plays are particularly popular with Amateur Drama Groups
