Janet Torreano Pound started life as a playwright by being one of the four founding members
of The Detroit Playwrights Initiative in 1991. She has since had her plays performed by
the Playwrights Initiative as well as The Purple Rose Playwrights Unit and The Heartland
Theatre Company, and several of her monologues were recently published by Smith & Kraus
